A very comprehensive title, with a handy table itemising symptoms, causes and treatment of the basic diseases. An extremely useful reference tool, written in a readable style.

A few breeds are mentioned, plus a little information on housing & everyday care. Her enthusiasm for this hobby is infectious and will surely convert even the most sceptical!

However if you've missed them, this book contains an amazing range of wonderful colour photographs. There is helpful reading matter too about the breeds, but the photographs are what really sell this book an absolute must for all chicken enthusiasts.

This has to be the Chicken Book of the Year and is amazing value for money! Over 300 pages of information, all liberally illustrated with really first class colour photographs. A third of the book is devoted to husbandry with sound information, and the rest to the breeds themselves with details of the breed's origins, appearance, colour and pattems, qualities and particulars. Highly recommended.

A beautifully produced book, carefully researched giving the historical background to over 180 rare breeds of chicken from all over the world, with a detailed description of their breed characteristics. Amply illustrated throughout with colour photographs of modern birds interspersed with reproduction from old poultry books. A book for the enthusiast, but worth remembering that some of the breeds described are not available in the U.K.
