We have been keeping and breeding chickens for over 50 years.
We are available to answer your queries during our opening times of 10.30am to 5.30pm every day (except Mondays) including Saturdays and Sundays.

Stock can be purchased from The Wernlas Collection with complete confidence as we only sell hardy stock that we have bred ourselves. All our growers are reared outside on grass. Each pedigree breeding group is housed in outdoor fold units to ensure purity. We have up to three bloodlines of many of the breeds and introduce fresh blood regularly. Our aim is not only to maintain the breed standards but also to retain their original utility characteristics.

SALMONELLA – we follow a Salmonella testing regime, laid down by the DEFRA, in compliance with the Poultry Breeding Flocks and Hatcheries (England) Order 2007.

VACCINATION – all day old chicks are vaccinated against Marek’s Disease and all growing stock receives a course of vaccine for the prevention of Gumboro Disease, Infectious Bronchitis and Newcastle Disease (Fowl Pest). Paracox™ vaccine to guard against Coccidiosis is given at 2 days of age.

We sell stock at any age from day old upwards, but the age at which sexes can be identified varies from breed to breed.

"We are happy to advise on the breed for your own
individual requirements – be it lots of fresh eggs from pretty chickens, pets for yourself or the children, to beautify and provide a feature in your
garden or all aspects rolled into one."
